Houston, We Have a Problem

Yes, it couldn’t be the NBA without a team not in the playoffs having locker room issues. It also only makes sense that the Houston Rockets would be the team to have these issues pop up. Apparently, the two stars, Chris Paul and James Harden, had a verbal altercation following the team’s loss in Game 6 to the Warriors. Was it about how they gave up a lead in Game 6? Or how they couldn’t beat a Durant-less Warriors? Maybe it had to do with the horrible defense and shot selection by the team that resulted in a loss to the Warriors?

Nope, it wasn’t any of those. Shams is reporting that the two stars had a verbal altercation stemming from who had the ball more, and the tension has apparently only been increasing between the two since then. With the fact the Rockets have now lost twice to the Warriors, maybe it is time to “change the scenery” a bit if you catch my drift…

Fact of the matter is Harden is the best player on the team, regardless of what CP3 thinks. If a player is calling out your best player because he touched the ball too much, then guess what happens? Player gets traded or cut. It happens all the time. 34 year old point guard CP3 should know this, especially since he is making roughly $125 million over the next 3 years. This is setting the stage perfectly for a blockbuster trade involving CP3 being shipped to a team, but where? What team in the NBA desperately needs a former All-Star point guard, but has players that tolerate/like CP3?

I know, the Los Angeles Lakers!

Yes, this is screaming of a possible CP3 to the Lakers trade. We all know that the Pelicans will not trade with the Lakers under any circumstance, so it is doubtful they will land AD via trade. Since the front office is so inept at signing free agents, then it will also be extremely doubtful they will be able to land any of the premier free agents this summer. Therefore, the Lakers will look to acquire an All-Star via trade, and what better way than taking Chris Paul off of the Rockets hands? LeBron gets to play with his buddy, and the Lakers have another All-Star to entice other players to come play in LA.

Boy, oh boy is this offseason going to be amazing. Cannot wait to see all the stars start being moved.

God, I love NBA drama.
