What Team Would Want Vontaze Burfict?

The Cincinnati Bengals have officially released ILB Vontaze Burfict. With the NFL becoming infinitely safer for quarterbacks and slot receivers on crossing routes, the trade rumors are going to be running wild.

Vontaze Burfict is almost unanimously thought of as the dirtiest player in the NFL. Yes, even beating Ndamukong Suh who appears to actively strive for the title. When Burfict is not suspended for his cheap hits, he is performing one. Most of the time, they are in the fourth quarter making sure the Bengals lose. This release was a long time coming.

So with all the problems Burfict brings, it begs the question: what team would actually want him? Despite all the issues he brings, Burfict is a pretty decent player. Could a team look past all of his on-field issues and give him a second chance? I could never, but then again, I don’t own an NFL Franchise. These are the teams that could use him.

Oakland Raiders
Gruden doesn’t seem to mind someone who brings all kinds of drama and negative attention. If you’re a good enough player, Oakland may welcome you. After all, they need linebackers.

Cleveland Browns
Making all the big boy moves this offseason, I can totally see the Browns taking a risk on Burfict. They already got Kareem Hunt who is serving a 8-game suspension. Can they take on another round of negative PR?

Baltimore Ravens
I mean, they need linebackers and have had worse… I guess.

New England Patriots
Let’s be honest. They are going to find a way to have Burfict join the team. I hate it, but all of Kraft’s legal proceedings are going to overshadow anything Burfict does. Also, Belichick knows how to keep his guys out of trouble.
