After last night’s 69-49 win over Louisville, Syracuse Coach Jim Boeheim hit and killed a pedestrian that was walking outside his vehicle on Interstate 690. The Post Standard and Syracuse.com have both confirmed that the incident occurred around midnight last night.
It is reported that the man killed was involved an unrelated crash. The cause of that earlier crash of is still unknown. Sources say the man had just gotten out of his car when he was struck by Boeheim.
Syracuse Police say that the Syracuse Coach is cooperating with the investigation and Police Chief Kenton Buckner will have a news release shortly.
It is also noted that road conditions were icy and slick in some areas, but it is also unknown if that played a factor.
