Well, it’s official. Former Quarterback of Alabama, Jalen Hurts, will be transferring to Oklahoma. His decision was first announced by the Players Tribune. He will be eligible to play immediately as a grad transfer.
Before being bench for Tua, Hurts was 26-2 as a starter for the Crimson Tide and was the SEC Offensive Player of the Year in 2016. Obviously, this guy can play and was too good to play second fiddle to anyone.
Hurts also drew interest from numerous programs including Tennessee, Auburn (yikes), UCLA, Utah, Florida State and Ohio State. He took official visits to Maryland, Oklahoma and Miami. However, with news of Tate Martell transferring to Miami, it seems as the Hurricanes’ offer is off the table.
If there is one thing for sure, Jalen Hurts is going to win the Heisman at Oklahoma. The last two quarterbacks to transfer to Oklahoma have. Baker Mayfield came from Texas Tech and won it, Kyler Murray transferred from Texas A&M and did the same thing. Both made the CFP too. I’m going to go ahead and say history repeats itself and Jalen Hurts wins the 2019 Heisman and appears in the College Football Playoff.
